how to jailbreak 3.55 ps3

1. Download the CFW Geohot CFW , Extract The File. http://geohot.com/ps3publictools_release.zip
2. Download the PS3 3.55 Official Firmware here ( You only need to Download this if you have the KaKaRoTo's CFW installed. )

US - PS3 3.55 Official Firmware US by Sony
3. Make a folder on your flashdrive called PS3, inside that folder make one called UPDATE
4. The root should look like this "USB:F/PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP"
5. Put the official PS3 firmware in the update folder.
6. Navigate to the system update tab on the PS3 XMB.
7. Click on Update via Storage Media.
8. Click the 3.55 firmware
9. Wait till' the update is done.
10. When it is done, follow steps 3-5 but instead of putting the official firmware in the UPDATE folder, put the Geohot 3.55 Jailbreak CFW in.
11. Navigate to the system update tab on the PS3 XMB.
12. Go To Update via Storage Media.
13. Click update.

The File has already been re-named to PS3UPDAT.PUP once extracted.

If you get the message no applicable update data was found whilst trying to update via storage media then follow the tutorial below.

1. Put your USB in the PS3
2. Next hold the power button until the PS3 Turns off.
3. You should see the red light, Hold the Power Button Until you hear 2 bleeps, When you hear 2 bleeps let go of the power button.
4. Same thing again Hold down the power button until you hear 2 bleeps, let go.
5.Your PS3 should go on in recovery mode.
6. Connect your controller to your PS3, Make sure your USB is plugged in with the geohot CFW or the 3.55 Sony Firmware if your PS3 has KaKaRoTo's CFW installed.
7. Go To System Update & Press Start and select and the same time.
8. Your Almost Done, Follow the instructions on your screen.

it may take a few minutes to Download.

If You Get 8002F2C5 Corrupted Data Error Then Change Your System Language To English.


If your PS3 beeps 3 times, it means it didn't work, and if it beeps 8 times, you have successfully done it.

once you have done this put any kind of patch you want on your flashdrive and plug it in you ps3 now goto the file manager and on the left side it should say dev_usb0000 click that and you should see everything on your flashdrive but just hover over patch_mp.ff
now got the right side and click on dev_hdd0 then game the usdir next you will see blus 30377 click on that then you will see patch_mp.ff now hover over that and go back to do left side and press select circle start and now goto mw2 and start up
